Flying Over Sunset, set to begin previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on March 12, is right in the middle of rehearsals. On February 13, the cast of the new musical previewed a few of composer Tom Kitt and lyricist Michael Korie's original songs. Created and directed by James Lapine, Flying Over Sunset imagines a fictional LSD trip between screen star Cary Grant, politician Clare Boothe Luce and philosopher Aldous Huxley. Tony Yazbeck, Carmen Cusack and Harry Hadden-Paton play the American legends, respectively, and Erika Henningsen plays Clare's daughter. At the press preview, Cusack and the company sang the musical's title song. Hadden-Paton, Robert Sella, Laura Shoop, Henningsen and Michele Ragusa sang “Bella Donna Di Agonia," and Yazbeck and Jeremy Kushnier sang “I Have It All."
